Upcycled Food Foundation
We are grateful for the generous support from our funders that help make the work we do possible!
Upcycled Food Foundation (UFF) is a 501c3 partner of the Upcycled Food Association. UFF supports research initiatives that help to understand how to leverage upcycled food to maximize food waste reduction, and consumer education initiatives that engage everyday grocery shoppers in the solution, including Upcycled Food Month each June.
Upcycled Food Foundation is supported by grants and donations of all sizes. Join us to create a circular food economy, free of waste.
The Upcycled Food Foundation exists to prevent food waste by growing the upcycled food economy at a rapid pace. UFF accomplishes this through consumer education, partnerships with retailers and global scientific research. UFF aims to double the growth rate of the upcycled industry, and prevent 10 billion pounds of food waste by 2030.
Think back to the 1980s, when a group of businesses and consumers began to coordinate for the advent of the organic product industry. Today, it’s hard for anyone to go into a grocery store without interacting with the word “organic.” Now think a few years into the future, when you are at a grocery store shopping for your daily needs. In every aisle and around the perimeter, there are upcycled products. Upcycled food, upcycled cosmetics, upcycled home goods; you have the ability to fill your whole cart with products that prevent food waste because they are made out of the food that otherwise would have been wasted. The same is true for every grocery store around the country, and you often hear people say, “I only buy upcycled.” This future is possible!
This future is on its way here, but if we want it to be here soon enough to be able to have a meaningful impact on climate change, we need to make it a reality now. We would be honored to work with you to make this future possible!
Upcycled Food Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. EIN: 84-3451824
